If you want your bag to garner more attention, it will be hard to top Jump From Paper’s offerings.  Created by two Taiwanese designers (the back of the bag’s tags say “Proudly Produced in Taiwan”), Jump From Paper specializes in making cartoonish bags that use the art of perspective and broad strokes to make them seem two-dimensional.  Check out more photos after the jump.

Taichung’s tastiest creation is the suncake, a flaky pastry made with malt sugar.  Though not the most famous suncake seller in the city, Ichihuku 一福堂 makes a good one, while also offering some other great options including a delicious lemon cake.  Check out some photos from my visit.

Two common American sights made their debut in Taiwan the past few months: Gap and Krispy Kreme.  As an American, I wasn’t particularly excited about either of them opening up.  I always though Gap was a bit bland and there are much better options than Krispy Kreme in my opinion.  However, citizens of Taipei have flooded both of these venues, causing astronomical waits for something I took for granted years ago.  I investigated these mysterious locals…
